Social Media Policy
A recent area of activity by the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) has focused on challenges to employer action based on social media activities of employees. As usual, the NLRB has been vocal about which policies violate employee rights, but in an unusual action the NLRB actually ‘blessed’ one policy.
A copy of this policy has been placed on our website and accessed by clicking Sample Social Media Policy for your use as a template for your own media policy. We are providing the sample for you to use to either update your policy or use as a guide in reviewing your current policy.
As always, please use the information as a template, revising to fit the specifics for your credit union. Do not include information that is not applicable to your credit union and insert credit union specific information where needed. It is recommended that any completed policy be reviewed by your counsel prior to submitting for Board approval.
