See Flyer for Registration – Compliance Network May 20 2014

Our first compliance networking meeting was a great success.  Our open forum provided opportunity to express concerns, exchange ideas and understand best practices our credit unions have put in place as it pertains to the new mortgage regulations that came into effect January 2014.   Thank you to all who attended and contributed.  Our lively group is excited to meet again on May 20, 2014 at 9:00 am at the league.  The topic of choice is Fair Lending.  This topic was chosen based on the next league in house training session “Fair Lending and How to Conduct a Fair Lending Risk Assessment” scheduled for May 14, 2014 at “IL Monticello”,  facilitated by M & M Consulting.  We felt this would be a good time to discuss the takeaways from the May 14th training session.  If you were not able to join us today, we hope you will consider our future meetings.

Idea Lab: Connecting Through Membercation @ League Education Center
9:30 am – 11:30 am

Idea Lab Membercation

It seems that providing great financial services is not enough in today’s world-consumers are demanding more. People are looking for partnerships more than a service environment. So, how is your credit union going to compete? This quarter, the Idea Lab is looking at ways to strengthen your member bonds through ‘membercation’ (member education). We will review several unique ways to improve member lives through financial education in ways that are fun for the credit union and the member, looking at Filene and some innovative programs they have helped launch including: prize linked savings; the savings revolution; and the great credit race.
Participants will review these ideas then discussion will open to test our creativity and what solutions we can identify for credit union in Connecticut.

As credit union Annual Meetings conclude and new volunteers are elected, the League is your partner in providing the basics to your new volunteers. This popular program provides the ability for new volunteers to network with volunteers from other credit unions and discuss what the expectations are for their new position. This program is also helpful for any current volunteers who are looking for a brush up on responsibilities.
