The Branch Manager II leads a team of sales and service professionals in one or more branches (based on headcount/transaction volume) and is accountable for achieving branch production goals, servicing members in their local market, and ensuring that Branch team adheres to all internal policies and procedures. 

 Key Essential Responsibilities:
Oversees all aspects of assigned branch. Directs daily workflow and coordinates staff schedules. Holds branch team accountable for adhering to all internal branch operations policies and procedures through consistent training and coaching.   Responsible for overall member experience. 
Manages branch business development efforts; including internal and external efforts to drive business to the organization. 
Accountable for motivating and coaching staff to achieve all branch production goals established by senior management, included but not limited to: increasing membership, opening and servicing new and existing accounts, originating home loan and consumer loan applications (home equity, auto, personal, credit card, etc.).  Cross-sells other Credit Union products and services. 
Actively participates in Credit Union promotions and external networking opportunities.  Leverages contacts for results.
Controls branch security and determines individual accountability for cash and negotiable items.
Recruits, interviews and recommends qualified personnel.   Ensures that all employee performance appraisals are completed and administered in a timely manner, including goal setting, providing constructive feedback in a professional manner and developing a career path for each individual.   Recommend, document and administer employee counseling and disciplinary actions in coordination with Human Resources. 
Serves as back up to other Branch Managers in different branch locations when necessary.
Ensures adherence to company policies and procedures and Banking/Credit Union Regulations. Keeps abreast of industry developments including, but not limited to changes in regulations and technology.
Promotes and maintains a positive work atmosphere by communicating in a manner consistent with professional standards to work effectively with members, co-workers, management and vendors.   Demonstrates the Credit Union’s core values of Service, Teamwork, Integrity and Responsibility.
Performs additional duties as required.


Scope:

The Branch Manager II works under the direction of the Vice President of Retail Banking exercising independent judgement and decision making and requires minimal supervision.  

  

Essential Skills, Knowledge and Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent.  Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.  Will consider experience in lieu of degree.
5 to 7 years of relevant experience in retail banking or in a Credit Union.  Must have a minimum of 3 years of management and sales experience.  
Strong knowledge of federal and state banking laws, regulations and compliance as well as extensive knowledge of banking and lending products and services. 
Outstanding sales, problem solving and communication skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask.  Strong analytical and organizational skills. 
Must be available to work evenings and on weekends, as well as alarm calls and ATM servicing. Ability to travel up to 50%.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel.  Familiarity with banking and lending software.
