General Summary:

The Digital Service Representative primary focus is originating and processing applications for new membership and deposit accounts received through the Credit Union’s digital channel. This individual works as part of the Digital Banking team to deliver an exceptional member experience, recommending additional products and services to Credit Union members, when appropriate.

Key Essential Responsibilities: 

  1. Originates, processes, and funds new membership and deposit account requests in accordance with department policies and procedures. 
  2. Coordinates receipt of all necessary application documentation from both existing and prospective members during account opening process. 
  3. Proactively communicates with members during the account opening process via phone (inbound status calls and outbound follow up), email, and any other technology available. Works directly with both existing and prospective members to understand their needs.  
  4. Answers status calls from members submitting new account or consumer loan applications through digital channel.  
  5. Accountable for achieving new account opening (membership, checking, certificate) production goals and meeting service level objectives established by senior management.  Educates members on available digital solutions (online banking, e-statements, bill pay, etc.) to drive digital service adoption.     
  6. Cross-sells/originates consumer loan applications (auto, personal, credit card) and submits home loan referrals.  
  7. Resolves new account opening quality control stipulations for new account applications received through digital channels. 
  8. Promotes and maintains a positive work atmosphere by communicating in a manner consistent with professional standards to work effectively with members, co-workers, management, and vendors.  Demonstrates the credit union’s core values of Service, Teamwork, Integrity and Responsibility.
  9. Keeps well-informed of industry developments including, but not limited to, changes in regulation and technology.
  10. Ensures adherence to company policies and procedures and banking/credit union regulations.
  11. Performs additional duties as required.

Essential Skills, Knowledge and Requirements:

  1. High School diploma or equivalent required.   Some college coursework in a business-related discipline preferred.  
  2. Minimum of one year of experience working in a production environment (loan processing, branch or call center) preferred. 
  3. Knowledge of banking products and services preferred.   
  4. Strong desire to achieve production goals.
  5. Excellent non-face-to-face communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent email and phone skills required.  
  6. Familiarity with MS Outlook, Word, and Excel. 
  7. Must obtain (within 90 days) and maintain a State of CT Individual Producer License (Credit Insurance).
