Education and access are core values of the foundation. We achieve this by offering professional development scholarships to credit union professionals so they can use the training to help their members achieve financial success. CUBFI offers scholarships in three areas:
National Credit Union Foundation DE Scholarships
The National Credit Union Foundation's DE program provides the opportunity for credit union employees and volunteers to focus on building leadership skills, and promoting credit union philosophy and values. DE stands for "development educator," and the program is designed to create a network of individuals who can inspire and empower credit union members and their communities.
APEX Scholarships (CLOSED for 2025)
CUBFI gives scholarship access to Connecticut's credit unions to attend APEX, a collaborative conference between the Credit Union League of Connecticut and the Cooperative Credit Union Association. The conference has impactful keynote speakers, innovative educational sessions, and networking opportunities among regional credit unions and partners. There’s also an exhibit hall featuring vendors who showcase products and services to help credit unions succeed.
The League, in partnership with its foundation, Credit Unions Building Financial Independence, has announced two scholarship opportunities for staff of League-affiliated credit unions to attend APEX 2025.
- Small CU Scholarship (Under $100M in Assets)
- Emerging Leaders Scholarship (Under 40 Years of Age)
All Scholarship Recipients will receive:
- Complimentary APEX Registration ($459 Value)
- Hotel Reservations for Two Nights at Mohegan Sun ($438+ Value)
APEX scholarships are in support of the foundation's mission to support professional development within credit unions.
