President's Message

As Shawn Colvin sings, “Here we go again. Another round of blues.” What is going on in America??? The virus seems to be expanding. The political rhetoric is overheating. The fever (figurative and literal) is rising – getting hotter.  As the COVID-19 virus shows its resilience and virulence, many Connecticut residents feel like their hard work leaning into protective measures at the beginning of the pandemic was for naught. 

So what are we to do now? My hope is that we join together once again to protect the gains we worked so hard to enjoy. After all, the most effective leadership comes from actions and not words.  If we redouble our efforts to keep the virus at our borders, our businesses will stay open, our jobs will stay filled, and our schools will reopen (please let them reopen. Srsly). Also, if you have school age kids, you owe it to yourself to watch this last link.

Now is the time to act. This is not a teachable moment; this is a call to action.
