President's Message

The cornerstone of any good cooperative is the understanding among its members that the collective cares for the individual and the individual cares for the health of the cooperative. A member of our broader community, Representative Jeff Currey, is facing Stage 5 Kidney failure head-on and he needs a transplant. In true credit union fashion, we are taking the opportunity to use today’s message to spread the word about a friend in need.

Please visit getjeffakidney.com to learn more about Jeff. Maybe you are a match. Maybe you are the miracle. Maybe you are the miracle for someone else in need. There is need all around us. And our lives can change in the blink of an eye. Financial health does not exist in a vacuum. As we look at our members and our mission, are we truly meeting our members where they are? What more can we do to bridge the gap between financial health and physical wellness?

We so often think of organ donation as something considered after a death, but living donors can give a kidney to a person in need. Have you considered whether you can save a life? More than one hundred thousand Americans are waiting for a lifesaving organ right now.

In Jeff’s own words, “I don't really have a choice in the matter and... you can either sit around and wallow and be miserable which, to me, is just exhausting, or you can decide to get up every day, put a smile on your face, continue on with life as you can right now."

As always, thank you for the opportunity to serve you another week,
Bruce
