Congratulations to Joanne Todd and the family at Northeast Family Federal Credit Union for achieving designation as a Juntos Avanzamos credit union!

Hispanic and immigrant consumers are a large and vibrant part of the U.S. economy, but many avoid financial institutions because they’ve had a bad experience in the past. Juntos Avanzamos credit unions are committed to serving and empowering Hispanic communities and serving Spanish-speaking people regardless of immigration status. They work hard to understand the unique needs of Hispanic and immigrant consumers and communities so they can build the trust to provide people with the right financial services and advice for their unique needs.

I was honored to present the proclamation at the ceremony on Friday, August 30 in Willimantic at CLICK, a multicultural, multiservice, commercially licensed kitchen that connects farmers, chefs, and food lovers. CLICK enables local entrepreneurs to incubate small businesses without taking on the debt or risk of an entire kitchen all by themselves. Their producers buy local ingredients, support local farms, and help to grow the local economy.
