President's Message
Nautically speaking, a rising tide will only lift your boat if your anchor is aweigh (hoisted off the sea floor).
Turn on your radio to any one of the Connecticut iHeartMediaradio stations and you will likely hear the latest co-op advertising campaign organized and subsidized by the League. Nutmeg State Financial Credit Union and Connex Credit Union joined together to share the League-subsidized costs of a 16-day radio giveaway to “double your stimulus check” through April 2nd. Each radio spot is customized to the style of each station. Here are three examples.
Co-op advertising is available for print, radio, billboards, and even social media. It is a cost-effective way to simultaneously increase your advertising ROI by reaching even more of your target audience at a reduced cost while promoting the credit union difference in our state. Please let us know if you’re interested in similar opportunities and the League will get right to work building a new package for your consideration.
Here is some background:
Credit Union Co-Op Advertising is Horizontal
When credit unions partner with a league to advertise, the league and partnering credit unions share the advertising costs. Depending on the campaign and level of investment, these partnerships can vary in scale from simple name mentions to full ads with the individual credit union taking center stage. In most cases, there is at least a promotion of the credit union industry/model generally.
Benefits of Co-Op Advertising
Two words: “Free” Money. In today’s digital age, pooling a portion of advertising dollars with other League members allows your campaign to gain access to a larger market or a more visible platform. Today’s advertising technology allows credit unions to preserve their unique message while joining a single campaign. Participating credit unions can also save on the costs of creating media content because the campaigns are designed to fit within a template that has a similar look and feel.
Let’s hoist our anchors and set sail on the co-op airwaves.
Bruce
