CUBFI identifies ways where we can invest in our local communities and credit unions. Through CUNA’s FiCEP program, credit union professionals learn financial coaching concepts and tactics so they are better equipped to serve members who have difficult financial challenges. The course brings in an outside facilitator to step participants through the course and highlight important information so they can pass the certification course and serve members in a meaningful way.
CUBFI’s goal is to achieve as many financial counselors as possible across the state so that every person in Connecticut can access free financial education to help them make informed financial decisions and achieve financial independence.
Each year, CUBFI selects a cohort of credit union professionals to go through the certification process at no cost to the credit union. This training runs on an annual basis from June through October.
