Education and access are core values of the foundation. We achieve this by offering professional development scholarships to credit union professionals so they can use the training to help their members achieve financial success. CUBFI offers scholarships in three areas:
National Credit Union Foundation DE Scholarships
The National Credit Union Foundation's DE program provides the opportunity for credit union employees and volunteers to focus on building leadership skills, and promoting credit union philosophy and values. DE stands for "development educator," and the program is designed to create a network of individuals who can inspire and empower credit union members and their communities.
CUNA GAC Scholarships
CUBFI provides CUNA GAC scholarships to help advance the credit union industry and promote the credit union advantage to lawmakers and the general public. We provide scholarships to attend this conference so that credit unions both large and small have access to this premier credit union event. At CUNA’s GAC, attendees have the opportunity to meet with members of Congress and other policymakers to share their stories and discuss issues such as regulatory reform, tax policy, and credit union access to capital. The conference includes keynote speakers, educational sessions, and networking opportunities, as well as a visit to Capitol Hill to meet with legislators to share the value of credit unions.
APEX Scholarships
CUBFI gives scholarship access to Connecticut's credit unions to attend APEX, a collaborative conference between the Credit Union League of Connecticut and the Cooperative Credit Union Association. The conference has impactful keynote speakers, innovative educational sessions, and networking opportunities among regional credit unions and partners. There’s also an exhibit hall featuring vendors who showcase products and services to help credit unions succeed.
