Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Analyze financial results, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to management.
- General Ledger Management and Payroll:
- Reconcile cash accounts on a daily basis.
- Oversee the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness of all entries.
- Reconcile bank statements and balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis.
- Maintain Fixed Assets and Prepaids
- Process Weekly payroll and 401K processing
- Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and financial forecasts.
- Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis.
- Compliance and Audit:
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Prepare for external audits and liaise with auditors to provide necessary documentation.
- Assist with NCUA Quarterly Call Report
- Annual Tax Filings
- Team Leadership:
- Mentor and support junior accounting staff in their professional development.
- Collaborate with other departments to enhance financial processes and reporting.
- Special Projects:
- Participate in special projects and initiatives as needed, including system upgrades and process improvements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a financial institution.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and regulatory requirements specific to credit unions.
- Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel; experience with FiServ Portico & Wisdom Accounting is a plus.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
