Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Reporting:
    • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
    • Analyze financial results, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to management.
  2. General Ledger Management and Payroll:
    • Reconcile cash accounts on a daily basis.
    • Oversee the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness of all entries.
    • Reconcile bank statements and balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis.
    • Maintain Fixed Assets and Prepaids
    • Process Weekly payroll and 401K processing
  3. Budgeting and Forecasting:
    • Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and financial forecasts.
    • Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis.
  4. Compliance and Audit:
    • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal policies.
    • Prepare for external audits and liaise with auditors to provide necessary documentation.
    • Assist with NCUA Quarterly Call Report
    • Annual Tax Filings
  5. Team Leadership:
    • Mentor and support junior accounting staff in their professional development.
    • Collaborate with other departments to enhance financial processes and reporting.
  6. Special Projects:
    • Participate in special projects and initiatives as needed, including system upgrades and process improvements.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a financial institution.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and regulatory requirements specific to credit unions.
  • Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel; experience with FiServ Portico & Wisdom Accounting is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
