Connex CU Receives Visa's® Commitment to Community Award

North Haven, Conn. (April 24, 2023) - On February 28, 2023, Connex Credit Union was honored to receive the inaugural national VISA Commitment to Community Award for 2023 at The National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington, DC. This recognition is awarded to a VISA credit union client that champions the advancement efforts of credit unions bringing forth positive change within the industry, their workplace, and their community.

“Connex has a long history of serving the unbanked and underbanked in our market area, and over the past year, we have received some national recognition in various articles and publications that touted our journey and increased commitment in this area”, stated Frank Mancini, President and CEO of Connex Credit Union. “It was truly an honor to represent Connex, as well as to meet and listen to the 2023 inductees into the African American Credit Union Coalition Hall of Fame.”

As part of this award, Connex received a $5,000 grant from VISA, which will be used to support their community activities in 2023 including financial literacy, food insecurity, and children’s health.
