Credit Union CEO answers the call for mentors

Edward Bohnwagner leapt at the chance when he heard that the Plainville Community Schools were seeking enthusiastic individuals to join their time-honored mentoring program.

With a rich history of mentorship and community involvement, Bohnwagner has been an active volunteer in local schools and programs like Junior Achievement. He's also dedicated his time to the Financial Reality Fair program, benefiting high school students across Connecticut. Lynn Davis, Director of Community Relations for Plainville Community Schools said “UBI CEO Edward Bohnwagner, who currently mentors an elementary school student in Plainville each week, is the consummate example of giving back to the community and making a difference in the lives of local youth."

Bohnwagner himself is passionate about the impact of mentoring. "In today's world, our youth face growing challenges," he noted. "Being there for them, lending an ear, and offering guidance can truly shape their future." Davis goes on to say "UBI continues to be an incredible community business partner, supporting a variety of school district initiatives including our district mentor program.”
