Credit Union Donates to Relieve School Lunch Debt
UBI Federal Credit Union recently donated $500 to the Plainville Schools Food and Nutrition Services Department to help alleviate school lunch debt.
UBI Vice President of Marketing Fred Brown said, "Connecticut is home to over 100,000 children facing food insecurity, with the average school lunch debt reaching $181 per student annually. UBI Federal Credit Union is proud to support Plainville students by donating to ensure every child can eat without worry or financial burden," Lynn Davis, Director of Community Relations for the Plainville Community Schools, said “Our partnership with the UBI Federal Credit Union in Plainville continues to grow and we are extremely grateful for their ongoing support."
