WHAT, DE training is about?

When I first found out I was getting an opportunity to go to Wisconsin and take the DE training, two feelings came over me in an instant. Excitement then very quickly nervousness. Nervousness because this training has always had a veil of mystery shrouding it. Not so much as to WHAT, DE training is about, but HOW, the trainings go. No itinerary before we arrive, titles left at the door, and how could they possibly know ahead of time we’d be the best class ever…?

TRUST THE PROCESS.DE

What I didn’t foresee, is how much my life would be impacted in that one week. The lessons from our amazing and knowledgeable facilitators. The aide our rock star mentors provided. The team building and the bonds formed with people that will remain etched in my heart for this lifetime. All impacted me in a way that I couldn’t have dreamt a week would do. We hear about the credit union movement and some of us try to live by it daily but I never would have looked at it much less immersed myself to this capacity without this opportunity. DE training should be for everyone, from front line all the way up to our executives and board, to vendors, and CUSOs, any one in our realm. For someone whose new to the industry to those of us who’ve been in the industry for a decade (or two, or three!) Everyone will have something valuable to take from this. The amount of gratitude to everyone in this process for giving me such a heartfelt, gratifying, and truly grounding week for this lifetime lesson isn’t easy to convey with words.  I came back to my credit union running. With different ideas on how we can continue the movement, how we can dive past the day-to-day norms and push ourselves to be more. I can go on and on about DE training but won’t continue to say too much. If you get the opportunity, go, take the training and most importantly;

TRUST THE PROCESS.

& in case you were wondering, yes, we absolutely were THE BEST CLASS EVER!
