League Board Election

The following candidates are running for the Board of the Credit Union League of Connecticut. There are three open at-large positions and three running candidates. The League Annual Meeting is on Thursday, October 12 during APEX 2023. There is an Annual Meeting-only registration option available here. Credit union delegates are reminded that they should complete one ballot per credit union and can vote one time for each open seat (3 votes in total).

 

Carl Casper - Connex CUCarl Casper
EVP and COO, Connex CU

Carl Casper is EVP and CRO at Connex Credit Union, where he has worked for over 10 years. In that role, Casper oversees the Retail Branch Network, The Contact Center, Marketing Department, Consumer Lending area and the Community Development Department. He started his career nearly thirty years ago as a management trainee at The Bank of New York and has held many senior level positions in commercial banking since then. Immediately prior to joining Connex, he held a Marketing position with Webster Bank. Casper received his BA from the University of South Carolina and MBA from Quinnipiac University.  He currently serves as the President on the Board of Benhaven in Wallingford, an organization that assists individuals on the autism spectrum. He serves on the Boards of several other non-profit organizations, dating back over 20 years.  He is presently the Treasurer of the Credit Union League’s Consumer Board and has served as a Board Member for the past four years. Carl previously served on the Board of the Credit Union League of Connecticut’s League Services Corporation, which seeks to drive alternative sources of revenue to help fulfill the credit union mission.

 

Andrew Klimkoski - Achieve Financial CUAndrew Klimkoski
President/CEO, Achieve Financial CU

Andrew Klimkoski is President/CEO of Achieve Financial Credit Union located in Berlin, CT, and has more than 20 years of experience in the credit union industry.   As a graduate of Central Connecticut State University, he also holds an MBA in Financial Services from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. 
  
Klimkoski is an active participant in the community, serving on a variety of non-profit, community and industry boards.  He currently serves as an elected official to the Board of Finance for the Town of Burlington, member of the New Britain High School Academy of Finance Advisory Board, trustee of the CT Credit Union Charitable Foundation, member of the CCSU Community Engagement Council, and a member of the Connecticut League Board for two terms.  
  
Klimkoski resides in Burlington with his wife Cynthia and their two sons. He enjoys golf, outdoor activities, and spending time with family.

 

Howard Brady - American Eagle Financial CUHoward Brady
President/CEO, American Eagle Financial CU

Howard Brady joined the credit union movement in 2006 and immediately knew it was something special. Over the last 16 plus years, Howard has had the privilege to work at two progressive credit unions – Seasons FCU for eight years and American Eagle Financial CU for the last 8+ years. Howard currently serves as the President/CEO at American Eagle and is a trustee for the Credit Union Legislative Action Council (CULAC) designed to drive advocacy for credit unions. Three themes are central to Howard’s credit union experience – leadership, creation of meaningful change and enriching others. He recently served as a Board member for the League Services Corporation and is currently a Board member for the Credit Union League of Connecticut. Howard enjoys utilizing his experience and passion to serve others in order to provide value to the League and credit union membership.
