ConnexCares Awards $30,000 in Grant Funds to Six Local Nonprofit Organizations

ConnexCares, the philanthropic arm of Connex, is proud to announce the distribution of $30,000 in grant funds to support the impactful work of six local, nonprofit organizations. Each organization received $5,000 to support its programs dedicated to addressing one of the three ConnexCares pillars: financial literacy, children’s health, and food insecurity. The following six grant recipients include:

Change is in the Air Foundation- A philanthropic effort to aid in funding the African American Brewing Scholarship created by New England Brewing Co. and Sacred Heart University, making education in the beverage industry more accessible to Black and Brown students. 

Charlotte’s Web of Prayer- Since 2009, Charlotte’s Web of Prayer has been providing financial assistance to families of children battling life-threatening and terminal illnesses. Their goal is to ease the financial burden these families face, while also providing emotional and spiritual support. 

CitySeed, Inc. - A New Haven-based nonprofit focused on building a more just and sustainable food system. CitySeed operates farmers' markets, mobile food programs, and culinary training initiatives that improve food access and support employment for New Haven residents. 

Community Dining Room- Serving the south-central Connecticut shoreline, Community Dining Room provides food, support, and basic everyday essentials to shoreline residents facing food insecurity. 

ConnCorp, LLC. - Short for Connecticut Community Outreach Revitalization Program, ConnCorp works to revitalize neighborhoods by fostering economic development, supporting small businesses, and creating spaces for community engagement.

Timely Treasures- A Hamden-based nonprofit dedicated to helping children who have lost a parent and/or caregivers through emotional, financial, and physical support.
